In 2016, we learned how vulnerable the country’s election infrastructure is to foreign hacking – and that countries like Russia are actively trying to interfere. As we approach 2020, have states made the necessary changes to protect how we vote?

The answer is…no. From using  machines that are over a decade old to relying on electronic voting that produces no paper trail, one election security expert says major upgrades are needed — but it’s not too late to make it happen.
